About the Filmmaker
Vicki Elson, MA, CCE has been teaching childbirth education classes since 1983. She also trains childbirth educators for various organizations and lectures on childbirth anthropology.
She is a co-founder of the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators (ALACE), and she has served as its Director of Teacher Training. She has trained childbirth educators for Seattle Midwifery School and Massachusetts Midwives Alliance, and she is currently offering a workshop called Childbirth Education Essentials and training childbirth educators.
She works at Northampton Wellness Associates, an integrative-care medical clinic in Western Massachusetts, and at CRADLE, a multifaceted business serving pregnant and parenting families. She is a volunteer childbirth educator and labor support doula associated with organizations including the Green River Doula Network, Baystate Medical Center, and the Prison Birth Project.
She has three children and two grandchildren.
